In the early 1930s, an alphabet based on the Latin one was created for the Balochi of the USSR. It included the following letters:
A ә in c ç d ᶁ e f g h i j k ʟ m n o p q r s ş t ƫ u v x z ƶ '
On this alphabet primers were published, translations of ideological works and a page in a local newspaper were be printing. But in the late 1930s book publishing in the Balochi language ceased in the USSR .
In December 1989, the page in the Balochi language was printed in the Iolotanskaya district newspaper "Taze Durmush". It was used the standard Cyrillic alphabet without additional signs in this text.
